To ensure the 3rd Hayling Scout Group will continue to be successful in the new Millennium.

- Our Sections (numbers, waiting list management, leadership and support of Scouting outside of Hayling)
- The Headquarters (meeting rooms, storage, prime facilities)
- Camping Equipment (what is required, asset management)
- The Executive Committee (structure, roles, membership)
- Finance (restructure of accounts, introduce specific funds)
- Fundraising (approach, organisation, targets, event type)
- Transport (what do we need in the future)
What Did We Achieve
Our Sections
- 24% increase in membership during period
- Improved transfer success between all sections
- Chief Scout’s Awards achieved by over 12% of Scouts
- 95% transfer to Venture Scouts of 15 year old Scouts
- Over 90% of District / County events supported
The Headquarters
- New Kitchen in different location
- Old Kitchen converted into smart reception area
- Toilet facilities improved
Camping Equipment
- Secure Storage Area refurbished
- Completed Inventory and life expectancy assessment
- Improved processes for booking, damage reports etc
Executive Committee
- Roles defined & job descriptions produced
- Structured approach to decision making
- Non uniformed membership increased to 10
Finance
- Accounts restructured and maintained online
- Year on Year comparisons introduced
- Special Funds introduced (Activities, Building, Transport)
- Introduced Deed of Covenant for Subs
Fundraising
- Introduced structured approach to events with targets
- Dropped “low return” events and new ideas tried
