3rd Hayling Scout Group

Welcome to the web site for our group, the only group on Hayling Island in the District of Havant and the County of Hampshire.

The group was founded in 1929 by Major Gunnell and today has 200 youth members aged between 4 and 18 supported by over 40 adults.

Dr Philip Blosse

It is with much sadness that we have to report the passing of Phil Blosse, Chair of Hayling Scouts from 1984 to 2017.

Click here to find out more about the immense contributions Phil made to the Leaders and through them to the lives of the young people of Hayling Island.

You can also leave your own message of condolence which will be passed onto Phil's family.

Funeral Arrangements

The funeral for Philip will be held on Monday 10th February at 12.15pm at The Oaks Crematorium, Bartons Road, Havant PO9 5NA After the funeral there will be a reception to celebrate his life at Hayling Golf Club, PO11 0BX with a welcome-drink and buffet.

Family flowers only please. If wished donations may be made in lieu of flowers to HASAG, a charity supporting patients with mesothelioma/ lung cancer/asbestosis in southern England

Video from Bear Grylls

Volunteering at Scouts isn’t just about changing young people’s lives. It’s about doing something that’s #GoodForYou too. Good for your health and happiness, good for developing skills, and good for making friends.

Just 4 Hours

Did you know our Leaders give between 150 and 500 hours per year to Scouting and providing opportunities for your children. You can help make their life a bit easier by offering just 4 hours a year to help the Group.

Can You Help?

We are always looking to share the workload by asking for volunteers across a range of activities. Select this link to find out how.
