Funeral Arrangements

St Mary's Church, Hayling Island
on Tuesday 29th July at 2:00 pm

Gillian and Dominic have requested "Family Flowers Only" with Grady's the Funeral Directors accepting donations towards "Asthma UK" or "3rd Hayling Scout Group".

Colin was involved with Scouting on Hayling Island for over 70 Years as a Cub, Scout, Senior Scout and Rover Scout. He was one of a unique few who completed the requirements of the “King’s Scout Award” but was presented with the “Queen’s Scout Award” due to the change of Monarch in 1952.

Colin was an active Leader from the age of 20 as a Scout Leader and Group Scout Leader until he stood down in 1991. He retained strong links to Scouting as a member of the District Fellowship, as a Vice President of Havant Scouting but always maintained an active interest in Hayling Scouts, attending meetings and events whenever he could.

He was recently presented with his 60 year Adult Service Award, during which time he made a positive contribution to the lives of thousands of young people.

I know that many of you will have known Colin personally whilst others may know him as someone who attended many of our Annual meetings and other events, but like me I am sure your thoughts and prayers are with Gillian and Dominic at this difficult time.

It was a real privilege for me to have been involved with Colin in Scouting on Hayling.
