Training Weekend for Patrol Leaders

Report Date 15/05/12

9 Patrol Leaders from across all four Scout Troops attended a training camp to refresh and develop their camping skills. The weekend was organised by Dreadnought, our active support unit with the help of the Leaders.

The Scouts had to plan a menu to suit their patrol. One patrol member went shopping for the food with leaders, and each patrol then prepared and cooked the meal and hosted the leaders. Aprt from cooking, teamwork skills were developed by building a bridge from poles and ropes across a very large puddle and the Leaders worked with the Scouts to help them understand what is expected from them in their camps throughout the year. This included setting up a camp, building gadgets (things to make their life easier in camp) health and hygene and leadership skills.

A brilliant weekend was the feedback.
