Oh What a Battle!

Report Date 29/06/09

300+ Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers, Leaders and families were welcomed to the site of the "Battle of Grazed Knee" (alias Lyon's Copse Campsite) for the 80th anniversary gathering of the tribes of Hayling.

After a day of practising the art of ancient skills including cooking, craft, Archery, Wall Climbing, riding the Rodeo Bull, branding, raft building plus many others the Saturday Evening was one of self entertainment at one of those classic Hayling Camp Fires.

On Sunday everyone was transported back to the time of the original battle for a real life re-enactment. The weopans were identical including water bombs, flour bombs and a water cannon used by the 7th Cavalry.

A great time was had by all and you can find some photo's and comments from those who took part by selecting the tent on the left menu bar.
