Stag Camp reaches 40 Years

Report Date 24/06/08

40 years ago a group of ex Scouts from 3rd Hayling Eagle Troop held their own camp which has become an annual event. In 1968 their were 35 members and over the years some of these members and new faces have camped in the New Forest, attending from all over the World. The Stag's include people from all walks of life from Brickies to Surgeons, Electricians to Bank managers but all with the common link of 3rd Hayling Scouts.

This year 15 members took part and enjoyed the well established activities of eating, drinking, sitting round a camp fire and the occassional exercise in the from of bowls and lawn darts for prizes such as mars bars!

The photograph shows (left to right) Ray Hawker, Frank Murray, Colin Boniface (wearing his Centenary Neckerchief) Mike Green and John Boniface (cutting the Birthday cake).

What a great advert for the lifelong friendships that are formed in the Scouts!
