60 join in with Lions Walk

Report Date 20/05/07

Over 60 Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, Leaders and families took part in the Langstone Walk organised by the Lions Clubs of Hayling Island and Portsmouth.

This year they enjoyed strolls of varying lengths on a fine sunny day (unlike last year for those that remember).

The Beavers started at the Station Theatre and strolled up the Billy Track to the just behind the Esso Garage, before returning a little more slowly. The Cubs went as far as the Hayling Bridge before turning round whilst the older ones completed the full 15 miles with trek carts in tow.

As a group we are very grateful to the Lions Assoication for organising this event each year, for the help of those at the checkpoints (particularly the Station Theatre) for their patience with us and for providing the young people taking part with a certificate to acknowledge their individual achievements.
