Quid Nunch win our Quiz

The winners of the Dreadnought Trophy at this our 20th Quiz night were team "Quid Nunc" (which is Latin for someone who wants to know the latest news and gossip) with a score of 73 points. Second were "Universally Challenged" 67 points and third, "Beachcomers" (66 points).

Our thanks to Ann Ault and Hannah Kirby for marking the answer sheets and adding up the scores, to Mandy, Fiona and Jofor again providing the "quizzies" with another well received hot supper.

There were two changes this year:-

• Billy Ault our questionmaster for the past 14 years was unable to join us and so Ian Hawk took over this role. However do not be too concerned, Billy will be back next year!!!
• This year we decided to change venue and invite everyone to our home of Scouting, our HQ in Kings Road. This proved to be a great success and will be repeated in 2016 with a couple of amendments based on the feedback we received.

Thanks also to Stoke Fruit Farm for their continued sponsorship of this event, to Wendy & Patrick Radford for the Apples, to those who donated raffle prizes and to Mandy Hawke for organising the event.

The Raffle was organised and managed by four Explorer Scouts, Hannah Kirby, Charlotte Saunders, Dominic Allgood and Matt Pickles who will be joining in with an expedition to Switzerland next summer. This particular expedition requires some specialist equipment and the money from the raffle will contribute to this.

The profit from the quiz was over £400 which will be used to support the 220 young people from Hayling who wear their Scout Uniform each week and the Raffle made £169 for the Kandersteg fund.

A great night all round with of course our thanks to all of the teams that supported this event.
