Queen's Scout Award for Kaj

Report Date 19/09/15

The Queen's Scout Award is the highest award that can be gained by youth members of the Scout movement. To complete this award, the individual has to complete the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award that consists of 5 challenges covering a new skill, physical challenge and community service (each for 12 months), a 5 day residential experience with people not previously known to you and a 4 day expedition in wild country. In addition, they must undertake an international Scouting activity, have spent at least 18 nights in camp and give a presentation on their achievements .

Kaj Carter from Nexus Explorers received his Queen's Scout and Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awards from Adam Jollans County Commissioner for Scouting, who praised him for his achievement and thanked all those who had supported him, including his family.

Kaj will now be invited to St James' Palace to receive his Duke of Edinburgh  Award certificate and to Windsor Castle next April along with Queen's Scout award holders from across the UK.
