Our Training Programme
The training programme is built around a range of activities devised to challenge each individual appropriate to his or her age.
The table shows how additional elements are included for the older ages and the structure of the programme is of a progressive nature, building on the skills and knowledge learnt in the previous award or section. Also shown is the top award of the section, which clearly demonstrates the progressive nature of the training programme.

Within the Training Programme there is to be a strong connection with the Duke of Edinburgh’s award scheme for the Explorer and Network Sections.
There are a number of activity and skill badges available to all sections, challenge badges that focus on adventure, teamwork and leadership and other badges that are group based and involve all sections working together
The training programme is designed to be very flexible, so that whatever the interest of the young person there are a number of activities that will meet their needs. Equally the programme provides ample opportunity to try something new throughout their time within the Group.
